Charter Fishing Destin

I recently went fishing on a charter boat out of Destin called Backlash Charters and was very impressed. I have fished on a number of different charter boats in both the Pacific and the Atlantic, from Alaska down to Costa Rica and everywhere in between. I can safely say that a fair amount of the time I don't get my money's worth. I have forked up hundreds of dollars only to get completely skunked! Now, I know that sometimes a captain can do everything right and the conditions might be wrong and the fish just aren't biting. However, there have been several times when I know that other boats caught a bunch of fish and my boat captain just wasn't getting the job done.

I definitely feel like I got my money's worth with Backlash Charters. I got to fish off of a really nice boat, the equipment was top notch, the captain and staff were friendly and best of all my group caught a bunch of nice fish! Can't beat that!

With Backlash you have the option to fish for a half day, ¾ day, full day or even take an overnight trip. I just did a half day but I wish that I had done more because I wasn't ready to quit fishing!

Depending on the kinds of fish that you would like to pursue you can either bottom fish or troll (or if you're like me you will want to give both a shot). For bottom fishing you will be targeting grouper, red snapper, amberjack, scamp and triggerfish. For trolling you are hoping to catch king mackerel, wahoo, tuna, marlin, sailfish and my personal favorite mahi mahi (or dorado). Very few places offer such incredible diversity in terms of gamefish.
